Srinagar, July 08 (KNO) : Thanking people for observing complete shutdown today, Hurriyat Conference (G) Monday said that ‘this silent protest should serve as an eye opener for every conscious and sane person, particularly those who are persistently in a denial mode of the ground realities.’ Hurriyat (G) in a statement issued to KNO said that despite living in a fearful and suffocating environment with nonstop bloodshed, death and destruction and psychological and physical torture, this nation can never afford to forget its martyrs and can never be cowed down by military might and iron fist measures. “Unrealistic and undemocratic restrictions particularly in Tral preventing people to pay homage to their brave hearts, is the new meaning of “democracy” invented by the arrogant rulers euphoric with the majority mandate intoxication, but those, who sacrifices their precious lives for a noble mission, live in the hearts of their people and don’t need communications tools or physical gatherings to express their emotions,” spokesman said. Commenting on the reports of vandalism and highhandedness of the armed forces in South Kashmir, Hurriyat (G) said that instead of fighting the freedom loving people, forces cowardly target defenseless innocents to quench their thirst of hatred, and arrest people randomly to create a graveyard like peace to hoodwink global powers. “Arresting Gh. Mohammad Khan Sopori, Bilal Sidiqui and Mohammad Yaseen Aataie is indicative of such mindset and this lawless land has a new norms of “democratic” values, which are so dreadful and inhuman, that its ramifications are seen and felt in whole world particularly Muslim Ummah, for the last so many decades,” Hurriyat (G) said.(KNO)
